Overview of country grants
Zimbabwe published its One Health National Action Plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in 2017.
The Fleming Fund has been able to support Zimbabwe on the development of its National Action Plan through our Global Grant to the FAO. Through Fleming Fund funding, Zimbabwe has also used the ATLASS tool to assess and develop its veterinary laboratories which will provide a baseline as we begin to explore how to support the development of laboratory capacity with national stakeholders.
Through the grant to FAO, the Fleming Fund will continue to support Zimbabwe with AMR surveillance in the food and agriculture sectors, review of national policies and legislation to address AMR and antimicrobial use and promote the adoption of good practices in food and agriculture to minimize the threat of AMR.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Zimbabwe Country Grant was launched on the 14th October and is currently open for applications. The RFP was developed and agreed in partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe.
