AMR Action Plan

The Tanzanian National Action Plan (NAP) on Antimicrobial Resistance (2017 – 2022) was launched in April 2017. Development of the NAP was coordinated by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (Pharmaceutical Services Unit) in collaboration with WHO and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

The operational plan includes 10 priority activities to address five strategic objectives that align with the five priority actions in WHO’s Global Action Plan on AMR. The monitoring and evaluation framework comprise indicators which will be measured in the process of implementation, with a midterm review planned for 2019 and an end of term evaluation in 2022.
